Annoying Facebook Friends
Everyone has their own pet peeves. What could be amusing and cute to one person may be annoying to another. While I’m generally a patient and tolerant person, following are the kinds of facebook friends that annoys me:
The Wet Blanket - these are the ones who post nothing but complaints. They complain about their work, their spouse, their life, their neighbor, the weather, etc. They even complain when there is nothing to complain. Yes, I also do post complaints once in a while. But at least I always make it in a humorous way. The ones I hate are those posts that reek of negativity that really drains the life out of you when you read it.
The Gamer - everyone loves playing computer games, and these social games put a different twist to the gaming experience. Sure, if I’m playing the same game as you, I would be willing to help you with it. But I’d rather hope you be selective with your game posts and not occupy 90% of my newsfeed space.
The Narcissist - We all know that in psychology, narcisism is a behavior where one falls in love with oneself. In facebook, they are those who like their own posts. I know, there’s nothing wrong with that. But when I saw somebody regularly liking their own posts and status updates, it just annoys the hell out of me.
The Video DJ - I love videos, especially music video and funny clips. And I love sharing them with friends too. That is why I also post videos regularly in facebook. But what really annoys me is when someone posts 5-10 youtube videos consecutively. Why not just share a playlist then? And also, at least make a comment on what the video is about, or why you are posting it.
The Activist - Then there are those who want to preach about some cause or lash out his/her opinion on recent events. Their posts are usually angry tirade laden with F-words. They claim that this is just to show how much passionate they are to the cause or how emotionally affected they are of the news. But these people are normally short-sighted, narrow-minded individuals who only wants to join the “in” crowd thinking that it will make them sound cool.
The Stop Light - Finally, this is the person who doesn’t get the meaning of your posts or status and make a serious but completely irrelevant comment. This is like someone who beats a comedian to his/her own punch line, and often you will be lost on how to react to such comment without making him/her look an idiot.
Well, there you have it - the characters that cause me to smirk, roll my eyes, or bang my head against the wall when checking my facebook feeds. What about you? What facebook behavior annoys you?
